La Copine

At Yucca Valley’s La Copine, former Angelenos Nikki Hill and Claire Wadsworth serve unexpectedly chic dishes like coconut rice pudding layered with raspberry compote, Cara Cara oranges, and fennel-spiced pepitas. Our favorite lunch and dinner spot. Outside, hit Teocali (teocalibrand.com), which sells hand-woven totes and textiles from Mexico out of a vintage trailer.

Pappy & harriet’s

Located in Pioneertown, find Pappy & Harriet’s, a groovy roadhouse that lures A-list musical acts, down-to-earth locals, and L.A. 20-somethings in floppy hats and gauzy tunics. Order a margarita and a plate of barbecued ribs to tide you over till showtime.

The Integratron - sound bath

“It’s kindergarten naptime for grown-ups in a sound sphere”. Head northeast to the Integratron in Landers. The white dome with a kooky extraterrestrial-themed origin story now proffers “sound baths.” Reserve online, then recline while quartz crystal bowls echo through the soaring wood interior—it’s incredibly relaxing, whether or not you believe in chakras.

ACME5 & Shop on the mesa

Our two very favorite stores off Highway 62 in Yucca Valley, ACME5 & Shop on the Mesa. Effortlessly stylishly, boho minimal, organic modern - whatever you wanna call it - you will love it. Handful of nooks that are cozy and inviting. Reasonably priced vintage and new furniture. Handmade and crafted decor. These stores are a wonderful delight for anyone passing through Yucca Valley and wanting to learn how to impart the desert lifestyle into the decor in their own home. Raw wood cactus planters and ceramic moon chimes dangling behind the glass. These shops are the physical manifestation of a brand that’s been quietly growing in the high desert since 2016.
